Fundraising Tech Tools for Nonprofits that are Making Social Impact

Fundraising Tech Tools for NonProfits- GA at NTC 25

At the 2025 Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC), our team explored the latest technology tools for nonprofits — including secure donor management systems, data-driven platforms, and innovative fundraising software tailored to nonprofit needs.

Nowadays, technology is not merely an operational need, but a driver of equity and a mission enabler, as NTEN’s Jean Westick puts it. When it comes to fundraising, leveraging data and technology can supercharge an organization’s efforts so they can further invest in their mission-driven work and impact.

At NTC, our team had the chance to connect with changemakers, share our vision for data-informed fundraising, and bring home actionable insights! The week was jam-packed, but across the three days, these three key insights emerged.

Key Takeaways in Fundraising Technology for Nonprofits

1. Choosing the Right Technology Partners for your Nonprofit

NTC featured sessions breaking down various technology partners, services, and companies and how to discover and consider their missions, funding, and core values. Programming suggested, when cultivating partnerships with tech companies and data providers, it's important to ask: Do their values align with our nonprofit's mission?

Grassroots Analytics Nonprofits works to remove barriers in development for all-sized organizations, partnering with those advocating for various causes, and connecting them with motivated supporters to improve the world. GA is rooted in these values, and we champion them by equipping nonprofit organizations with essential tools to optimize their development so they can maximize their impact and fulfill their missions efficiently.

Sessions like “Nonprofit Software: How is it Funded and is that Good?” unpacked how a partner's values can create implications for long-term alignment, ethical data use, and organizational trust. “How to Sync your Technology Roadmap to your Organizational Values” featured panel members who laid out how to decide guiding principles, prioritization, and decision drivers when choosing how to engage with technology partners.

2. Data Security = Donor Safety

Nonprofits face numerous challenges to the security of their data, as well as the security of their donor’s data. Things like systems inventory, incident plans for data breaches, compliance, data classification, data retention, third party access, and the influx of AI-use contribute to how nonprofit teams attempt to keep their data safe and secure.

Grassroots Analytics knows how vast data security challenges are, and our Nonprofits products are built with security as the first priority. We are set up to accommodate any data delivery interface that nonprofits might use to keep incoming donor data secure.

At NTC, sessions like “Data Disasters: Smart Storage for Nonprofits” presented the idea that strong data practices could be woven into every aspect of operations, from software selection to internal workflows.

When evaluating tools and platforms, NTC session leaders advised nonprofit teams to look beyond surface features and ask questions about data security, ownership, infrastructure, and sourcing to make sure data vendors and partners meet organizational data requirements.

Choosing aligned data partners is key to creating a safe digital ecosystem for an organization’s supporters and their data infrastructure.

3. Building Resilient Fundraising Strategies with Technology

Nonprofits rely on several sources of income to fund their missions: major gifts, grants, and federal funding. However, in the past few months, nonprofit organizations have started to face challenges to previously reliable funding sources. Reliance on grants or major donors might not continue to be sustainable for many organizations across many sectors. Sessions at NTC emphasized that supplementing previously relied upon sources of funding is becoming increasingly necessary for nonprofit organizations. Building individual, small-dollar giving programs — either from the ground up, or building on an existing foundation — is a lucrative avenue to raising the money needed to continue mission-driven work.

Grassroots Analytics Nonprofits equips organizations with essential tools to optimize their development to maximize their impact and fulfill their missions efficiently. Through a la carte and full service packages aimed to boost individual giving, GA helps nonprofits find donors who care about their cause. GA can also help nonprofits understand the best method of communication and message to deliver to those donors.

In addition to building individual giving programs, another strategy is rapid response fundraising — campaigns that build upon timely events or moments of urgency that align with a nonprofit’s cause. These quick-turnaround calls-for-action can unlock new donor engagement and funding. Rapid response fundraising requires organizations to be equipped to move fast in order to communicate compelling messages quickly and maximize opportunities for funding.

At Grassroots Analytics, we provide nonprofits the tools to run rapid response fundraising via text. After clients complete a few sign-up steps, GA is ready to mobilize donors at a moment's notice. This service empowers nonprofits to reach individual donors with speed and precision — turning moments of urgency into moments of impact.

Steps Forward: Positioning Nonprofits for Success

The 2025 Nonprofit Technology Conference made one thing clear: many nonprofits are eager to embrace new tools to drive mission impact and growth. As organizations explore new technologies, NTC leaders suggest doing so with intention, grounding each decision in their values and the realities of today’s digital landscape.

Before diving headfirst into new platforms, nonprofit teams might want to evaluate their current systems and foundations — from how data is managed, to the values of partners, to rapid response readiness to activate their supporters in moments that matter.

NTC25 illuminated to our team at GA that technology is here to support mission-driven causes and fundraising. In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, it’s evermore apparent how nonprofits are adapting to stay effective and ensure their voices are heard.

As nonprofits plan to innovate in their fundraising strategy, it’s important to remember:

  • Stay true to your values, even in partnerships

  • Data security is a priority

  • Resilient fundraising is rooted in building an ecosystem of diverse sources

And… That’s a wrap for NTC 2025! As nonprofits look to expand their fundraising efforts, investing in the right technology tools can make all the difference. Our team is looking forward to seeing what’s in store for next year’s conferences and how we can put technology to work for important social change.
